Richmond County Jail Roster
The official Richmond County jail roster is the Richmond County Sheriff's Office Inmate Inquiry, which opens the Augusta-hosted booking application after a local disclaimer. The sheriff's page says Augusta and the Sheriff's Office provide current inmate information as a public service and make efforts to keep the application accurate. It also tells users to report discrepancies. The application is a county system, not a commercial roster, and it can load active bookings, search by name, show recent bookings, and open a short public profile for each listed booking.
Richmond County inmate records in that roster cover local jail custody. They do not replace the Georgia Department of Corrections offender query for sentenced state prisoners, the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate locator for federal custody, or the ICE Online Detainee Locator System for immigration detention. Richmond County has no official BOP or ICE detention center inside the county, but federal or immigration custody can still affect a local arrest through a hold, transfer, or later designation.
The roster should be treated as current-booking data. Research found no official roster refresh schedule, no stated maintenance window, and no published rule for how long released Richmond County inmates remain visible. If a person was arrested very recently, if the service returns an error, or if the result does not match the expected custody status, the Booking Desk and records channels are the next step.
Use Richmond County Inmate Search
Open the RCSO inmate inquiry page, read the disclaimer, and choose Agree to enter the official application. The app can display an active-booking list on load. A Recent Bookings button also appears, although one inspection found that method could return a server error. The name search is the most stable public path because the Search button activates when either name field has text. Last name first is usually best because first-name-only searches can produce broad results.
- Open the RCSO inmate inquiry disclaimer and accept it to reach the booking application.
- Review the active-booking list if it loads. Results show last name, first name, race, sex, age, and arrest date.
- Enter at least one character in Last Name or First Name, then select Search. The form does not provide a public booking-number search field.
- Use the Records Per Page dropdown to show 5, 10, or 20 rows, then move through pages with the pager.
- Open the name link to view the Richmond County inmate profile with booking number, arrest date, charge rows, bond, and disposition fields.
- If the inmate record is missing, call Booking Desk or Jail Information at 706-821-1110 or use the RCSO open-records route.
The official roster source is pictured on the RCSO inmate inquiry disclaimer page before the booking application opens.
That disclaimer step matters because the county frames the roster as public-service booking information, not a certified court or criminal-history report.
Richmond County Roster Fields
The Richmond County inmate search form is narrow. It does not ask for date of birth, facility, charge, race, sex, or booking number. That makes spelling important. The public list can still help when the full name is not known because active booking rows include the compact race, sex, and age field plus arrest date.
| Field Label | Type | Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Recent Bookings | Button | No | Calls the recent-bookings service; one inspection found an EntryID server error. |
| Last Name | Text | Conditional | Search is enabled when Last Name or First Name has at least one character. |
| First Name | Text | Conditional | Useful with a last name, but broad if used alone. |
| Records Per Page | Dropdown | No | Options are 5, 10, and 20; the default is 10 records per page. |
| Pagination | Pager | No | Page clicks change the starting row and re-render the result list. |
Note: The roster can be useful for spelling and arrest date even when the final court charge later changes.
Richmond County Inmate Profile
A Richmond County inmate profile is shorter than many jail systems. The detail popup observed in research showed booking number, full name, arrest date, race, sex, age, and repeating charge rows with charge text, bond, and disposition. It did not show date of birth, housing unit, court date, arresting agency, statute code, projected release date, ICE hold flag, or DOC transfer flag. The booking-number format observed looked like a year plus a padded number, such as 2026-00004815.
| Field | What It Shows |
|---|---|
| Booking Number | Local booking identifier, observed in a YYYY-000##### format. |
| Full Name | Last, first, and middle name when available. |
| Arrest Date | Date of arrest in M/D/YYYY format. |
| Race, Sex, Age | Race and sex in detail form, with age shown as years old. |
| Charges | Repeating rows for each listed booking charge. |
| Bond | Per-charge bond amount when available; blank rows can appear. |
| Disposition | Status column that may be blank on the public detail. |
| Mugshot Area | The template contains a photo area, but inspected public output used an unavailable-image placeholder. |
Richmond County Custody Channels
Richmond County inmate records split by custody type. The sheriff's roster is the right source for county jail custody at the Charles B. Webster Detention Center and related intake or release activity through the Law Enforcement Center. Sentenced adult male felons assigned to Richmond County Correctional Institution or Augusta Transitional Center are searched through GDC. Federal defendants may pass through the U.S. Marshals Service in the Southern District of Georgia before any BOP designation. Immigration detainees are searched by ICE ODLS, which requires either A-number and country of birth or exact biographical fields.
| Custody Type | Where to Look | Richmond County Use |
|---|---|---|
| County jail | RCSO Inmate Inquiry and Booking Desk | Pretrial detainees, recent bookings, local jail inmates, release or bond checks. |
| State prison | GDC Offender Query | Sentenced offenders at Richmond County Correctional Institution, Augusta Transitional Center, or other GDC sites. |
| Federal custody | BOP locator or USMS Southern District contacts | Federal inmates from 1982 onward, or pretrial federal custody before BOP designation. |
| Immigration detention | ICE ODLS | Immigration custody outside the county roster; ODLS does not search people under 18. |
| Victim notice | VINELink | Georgia custody-change and release notifications after registration. |
Richmond County Jail Facilities
Richmond County has several custody locations that searchers often call "the jail." Charles B. Webster Detention Center is the main jail population facility. The Richmond County Jail / Law Enforcement Center remains important for intake, release, bonding, and court-clothing issues. Richmond County Correctional Institution and Augusta Transitional Center are not ordinary pretrial jail pages; both route sentenced state-custody searches through GDC.

Richmond County Booking Intake
RCSO materials identify the Richmond County Jail at 401 Walton Way as the intake and release center for people taken into custody. The current jail division page also says the division operates a processing center that receives and releases inmates around the clock. A practical Richmond County booking path is arrest, transport to intake, identity capture, property handling, medical and mental-health screening, classification, and housing or release processing.
Classification matters in Richmond County because processing and housing are not always the same place. A person may be processed through Walton Way and then held at the Phinizy Road detention campus. The roster does not publish a guaranteed time from arrest to online appearance. If the arrest is fresh, call 706-821-1110 before assuming the person is not in custody.
Custody flow: Arrest, booking, screening, classification, housing or bond review, then court appearance, release, transfer, or continued county jail custody.
Richmond County Jail Visits
RCSO uses video visitation for the Charles B. Webster Detention Center. The visitor center system lets approved visitors speak with incarcerated people at their housing location. The inmate starts the process by submitting the visitor's full name, date of birth, and relationship. Visitors register through InmateSales or by calling 1-877-998-5678, and RCSO says the Visitor Center can take up to 72 business hours to approve or deny a registration.
The official RCSO visitation page shows the visitor approval rules, ID rules, dress code, phone vendor, mail routing, and video schedule.
Those rules are part of the inmate-records workflow because an outdated custody status can waste a scheduled visit or phone-account deposit.
| Visit Item | Schedule or Rule | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Video visitation | Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | Schedule the day before and up to one week ahead. |
| Visit limit | One visit per week | Inmate workers use the same hours as general population. |
| Check-in | 15 minutes before scheduled visit | Late arrival can reduce remaining time or cause denial. |
| Identification | Valid picture ID required | State driver's license, passport, or military ID are listed examples. |
Contact Richmond County Inmates
Nonlegal mail for friends and family must use the scanned-mail address format: inmate name and inmate ID number, Richmond County Jail, GA, PO Box 76550, Highland Heights, KY 41076. Legal mail uses the Phinizy Road detention address. RCSO says nonlegal mail sent to the wrong address will be rejected, and legal mail or money orders not sent to the Phinizy Road address are returned to sender.
Phone service is through Combined Public Communications and InmateSales. Accounts can be funded at InmateSales.com, through the InmateSales app, by phone at 702-829-3001, or at blue kiosks in the jail lobby and visitation center. RCSO lists a standard call rate of $0.16 per minute plus tax, with a 15-minute call described as $2.40 plus tax. General phone calls may be unavailable for disciplinary segregation.
Richmond County Records Requests
When the roster is down, incomplete, or too limited, the official public-records route is the RCSO open-records request page. RCSO asks requesters to email RCSOOpenRecords@augustaga.gov and include the requestor name, phone number, return address, specific records requested, names, dates, times, locations, and case numbers if known. RCSO says costs may apply depending on the type of information and that the requester will be contacted before processing when charges are incurred.
The Records Bureau is another access point for public report questions, local criminal-record checks, and redacted records. Research lists Records Bureau phone 706-821-1010 and public request hours of 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Georgia open-records law generally requires production within three business days or a written timing, cost, or exemption response, but pending cases, juvenile records, investigative exemptions, and booking-photo restrictions can change what is released.
Note: The official MySheriff - Richmond County app announcement lists alerts, tips, news, programs, events, and division contacts, but it does not claim an inmate roster feature.
Richmond County Commissary Funds
Current RCSO material clearly confirms phone and video account funding through InmateSales and Combined Public Communications. Older official brochure material listed mycarepack.com and 866-394-0490 for commissary packages, plus older spending limits of $50 per week for food and beverage and $75 per week for hygiene or other personal items. Because the current inspected RCSO pages did not publish a full commissary vendor or fee table, confirm with the jail before relying on older package details.
| Item | Current Source Status |
|---|---|
| Phone and video account funding | InmateSales.com, InmateSales app, 702-829-3001, and blue kiosks. |
| Commissary vendor | Older official brochure lists mycarepack.com; current RCSO pages inspected did not update it. |
| Older spending limits | Older brochure lists $50 weekly food and beverage and $75 weekly hygiene or personal items. |
| Indigent status | Older brochure describes a $1 or less balance for a two-week period as a possible qualifier. |
Note: Confirm Richmond County custody status with Booking Desk before sending funds, scheduling visits, or ordering packages.
